Module Description
An electronic portfolio (e-portfolio) demonstrates your
understanding and

competency in the field of marketing when viewed by a potential employer.

During class time, students will brainstorm and receive feedback on possible

portfolio goals. For that, students must have a good idea of what sector they

wish to focus. Identify goals that are achievable. For example, if you want to

specialize in a specific field, say in sports, public services, tourism, etc.,

your class projects should be geared toward that sector. If one of  your goals

is to be up to date with the newest technology as well as best practices for

use in marketing outcomes, try to narrow this to something specific (e.g.,

technologies associated with social media; marketing management systems,

video production, technologies that influence consumer purchases, etc.).

Students should also  identify the field or subsection of marketing they wish

to pursue upon graduating from the National School of Finance and Business.

                                          The E-Portfolio Shell

Template Development
The purpose of this assignment is threefold: 1) To help you develop your electronic

portfolio so that it has a common look and feel to facilitate navigation. 2) To make

 your e-portfolio available to the class during the course of its development so

others can view your work, provide feedback, and obtain ideas. 3) To showcase

 portfolio products that you have either already developed or are currently working

towards within your program.

Before you add content to your eportfolio, you should establish the layout and

organization. The e-portfolio production using Google sites, a free web development

tool that is relatively easy to use, is recommended. In the download section of this

module, there is also an article on free or low-cost websites you may wish to use

instead. If you have extensive Web development skills, you may choose any

mechanism you wish at your own expense. Regardless of whether you use Google

sites or not to create your e-portfolio, your e-portfolio shold have a professional

feel to it. Remember, you will be carrying your e-portfolio with you and present

it whenever you are in search or a job, internship or volunteer position in marketing.

You should include all the pages listed below, and provide a navigation menu

that mirrors the content:

- Home Page / Introduction
Your introduction is the first page people see when they access your e-portfolio. You should provide a brief introduction

of yourself as well as a professional photograph. Use this page to concisely indicate your career objectives and the work

you are seeking. Next introduce your e-portfolio. Highlight one or two major goals that you accomplished during your

studies and indicate how they influenced you and your career aspirations. You may also want to indicate how your

e-portfolio demonstrates knowledge and skill to satisfy job searches, promotion requirements, or other professional

objectives. Make sure your introduction is concise; it should introduce, not supersede other sections.

- Page / Resume
Include an up-to-date resume as a section in your portfolio. This resume should highlight professional accomplishments

and summarize educational experiences. You may want to include a PDF version of your resume. In your resume include:
          *  Professional address
          *  Education
          *  Honors and awards
          *  Certification(s)
          *  Market research interests
          *  Professional experiences including time frames and brief job descriptions
          * Skills
          * Other pertinent professional experiences
This page will also contain links to the social media accounts we will be creating during the course.

- Page / Artifacts
This page will contain samples of projects completed, including products that may have been produced in class at the

National School of Finance and Business.  The purpose of this page is to demonstrate a range of skills in graphic design and

other courses taken.

Documenting Progress
You will need to document progress towards achieving articulated goals and share this experience in a classroom setting.

As you receive feedback on these goals, determine how you will tell your story of progress and what projects, documents,

and other materials developed during these courses might enhance employment opportunities.
